Who we are
Always On SEO is a WordPress plugin and this website, alwaysonseo.com. In this policy “we” means Always On SEO. You can reach us at [email protected].
This website
- It sets no cookies and has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
- Its fonts, images and scripts are served from our own server, not from a third party.
- Like any web server, ours records standard access logs (IP address, time and page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
- If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.
The plugin on the Free plan
With no license key stored, the plugin never contacts us or any service of ours. The one thing it does without a key is the broken-link checker, which requests the pages you yourself linked to, and only when you start a scan.
The plugin with a license key
Once you enter a license key, the plugin talks to our service at api.alwaysonseo.com. It sends:
- Your license key and this website’s domain, when you activate the key and whenever the Dashboard or Settings screen loads, so we can return your plan, usage and renewal date.
- A summary of the website’s SEO status with that Dashboard check: the health score, the number of pages with issues, the number of images missing alt text, and how many checklist items pass. No page content, URLs or visitor data are included.
- When you use an AI feature, the relevant page title and a content excerpt. We pass it to an AI provider (Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic Claude) and return the generated text.
- When you check a page’s speed, that page’s public URL, which we forward to Google’s PageSpeed Insights API.
- When you use Find competitors, your business name and either your address or your business description, as a web-search prompt.
- If you sign in with your email instead of pasting a key, that email address and the one-time code you are sent.
- Once a month, after a month has finished, a report snapshot: your page titles and URLs, the search terms your website earned impressions for with their clicks and positions, which pages changed and what changed on them, your competitors’ names and websites, and the health and speed figures for the month.
The Dashboard summary and the monthly snapshot are sent automatically. The Blog Engine sends AI prompts on its own schedule only if you switch it on. Everything else is sent only when you click the control that does it.
Always On Quotes
Always On Quotes is a plugin for quotes and invoices, separate from Always On SEO, with a paid add-on called Always On Quotes Pro. It has its own plans and its own license key.
The free plugin sends us nothing. Your quotes, customers, products, the activity log and what clients answer all stay on your own WordPress website. When a client answers a quote, your website stores the name they typed, their comment, the time and their internet address with its last part removed. Quotes are emailed through your website’s own mail, not ours. You decide what to keep and for how long, and you are the one who holds your customers’ details.
The add-on talks to our service at api.alwaysonseo.com once you enter an Always On Quotes license key. It sends:
- Your license key and this website’s domain, to check your plan and your AI credits.
- When you use an AI tool, only the text that tool needs, which we pass to an AI provider and return the answer. The quote assistant sends your business name, currency and tax rate, the names and prices of the products and the names of the customers that match what you typed, the last few messages and the draft you have open. Write with AI sends the item’s name, the quote’s number, total, validity and item wording, the customer’s first name and what you typed. The wording review sends the items, prices, dates, notes and terms. Explain these numbers sends totals and counts, with customer and staff names replaced by labels such as “Customer A”.
- Customers’ addresses, emails, phone numbers and tax numbers, and your payment details, are not sent by any of these.
- When you read a photo, a PDF or a business card with AI, the file you choose. It can contain personal details of the people on it, so use it only for files you are allowed to process this way. It goes to the AI provider to be read and is not kept by us.
We do not keep the text, the files or the answers. We keep a usage record for each AI request: your domain, which tool, which provider and model, and the credits and tokens used.
Some things happen only on your website and are not sent to us: the PDFs are made there, e-signatures and their fingerprints are kept there, the six-digit email codes are emailed from your website and only a hash of each is kept there, and invoices, credit notes and payments you record stay there. Webhooks send quote and invoice details, including the customer’s name, email and phone, to the web addresses you add in Settings. Those are your own tools, and what they do with it is up to you.
The add-on can also read our public plan and top-up lists. Those requests carry no personal data, though our server sees the address your website connects from, as any server would.
Google connections
When you connect a Google account, you are sent to Google’s own consent screen. Google redirects back to our service, which stores the resulting credential, encrypted, and uses it to read your Search Console, Analytics and Business Profile data when you load those tabs or click Sync. We only read existing reporting data. We do not add tracking to your website or collect anything about your visitors.
What we store
- Your license key, your website’s domain, your plan and your usage, including the usage record described above. A customer with both products has two licenses, one for each, under one email address.
- The email address you sign in with, if you use email sign-in.
- The encrypted Google credential, if you connect Google.
- Monthly report snapshots, kept against your license so past reports survive reinstalling WordPress or moving host.
Other companies involved
We use these services to provide paid features. Each has its own terms and privacy policy.
- Google (Gemini, PageSpeed Insights, Search Console, Analytics, Business Profile): privacy policy
- OpenAI: privacy policy
- Anthropic (Claude): privacy policy
- Pexels, used only by the Blog Engine when featured images are on and no suitable image is in your Media Library: privacy policy
- Razorpay, which takes payment for paid plans. You enter card details on Razorpay’s own payment window, not on our pages, and we do not see or store them. We receive your email address and the status of the payment and subscription: privacy policy
Your choices
- Remove the license key in the plugin’s Settings and it stops sending anything to us.
- Disconnect Google from the Settings screen to stop our access to your Google data.
- To ask what we hold about your license, to correct it, or to have it deleted, email [email protected].
Changes to this policy
If we change what the plugin sends or how we use it, we will update this page and the plugin’s readme. The date below shows the latest change.
